Summer ART WORKSHOPS for painters
~All about the worshops location and venue
Workshop location
The workshops are located on the Sunshine Coast in Gibsons, British Columbia, Canada. Gibsons is a very scenic 40-minute ferry ride from Vancouver, B.C.
The Town of Gibsons has received United Nations recognition as the “most liveable community with a population under 20,000” and the local water has also been judged to be the purest in North America.
The summer weather in Gibsons is exceptionally pleasant, but we have to have the odd shower to maintain our famous rain forests, and sometimes the sun gets a little strong and a hat may be needed!
Workshop venue
The School will again meet at High Beam Dreams in 2023. This beautiful and spacious venue is located in Lower Gibsons and classes will follow appropriate COVID-19 safe procedures.
Formerly a church, High Beam Dreams is a beautifully restored events venue that combines old world charm with all the modern amenities. This multi award winning venue suits indoor or outdoor events. Since opening in 2018 High Beam Dreams has hosted concerts, art shows, weddings, a film festival and myriad other events. Following the COVID-19 safety upgrades made in early 2020 this venue operates with a strict safety protocol that exceeds provincial and health guidelines.
The 2000 sq. ft. structure features soaring ceilings, ample natural light and significant cross ventilation. The summer art workshops will be limited to 14 students, allowing 6-foot social distancing to be maintained in full classes. Outside there is a comfortable gathering spot.
Washrooms include 2 toilets with automatic bleach rinse, touchless hand sanitizer and soap dispensers.
High Beam Dreams will provide a safe, pleasant and comfortable area for the 2023 art workshops. It is located at 350 Glassford Road; directions can be found here: google maps.
