About the workshop
In this workshop we will be looking at how composition and colour choices effect the expressive mood of our painting. By starting with a neutral image, I’d like to encourage students to give their first painting a positive mood and their second painting a somber one by tweeking the composition and selecting the relevant colour.

About the instructor
Greta completed her Fine Arts Degree in South Africa where she grew up and then, in 1980, immigrated to Vancouver. She worked as a graphic designer and illustrator, and taught printmaking classes at Capilano College. Since 1990, she has worked as a painter from her studio on the Sunshine Coast of B.C. Artist statement
I have a strong bond and reverence for the landscape that surrounds me, and feel compelled to reveal the living energy and poetry within it. I use expressive colour and rhythmic design, combined with a stylized narrative of familiar scenes to translate the joy and wonder that I feel.
